Started his public life as a Bala swayam sevak of RSS in 1966 and soon became Mukhya Shishak an Secretary of the Janasangh Local Samithi. There was no turning back since then. It was a gradual but steady ride to the prestigious position of the Kerala State President of B.J.P (2 times) and as the erstwhile member of the National Executive of the Party. As an active member of ABVP and Yuva Morcha, he ascertained his potential and competence to take up any pivotal office in the higher hierarchy of his political structure. During the period of the ill-famed Emergency he did not swerve the responsibility to pioneer an agitation against it. He participated in Loka Sangarsha Samithi Sathyagraha as well as a member of the Calicut University Senate for a consecutive period of 12 years he proved himself competent to assert his academic acumen too. In 1977-79 he was the state general secretary of Kerala A.B.V.P. and state secretary of yuva morcha. In 1999 the Party assigned him the task of organizing the Party in the scattered islands of Laksha Dweep where the population comprises 100% Muslims and hence had no root so far for the party. He ventured and through diplomatic and expedient campaigning succeeded in implementing the mission. In the ensuing General Election to Loksabha in 2004 the NDA bagged two seats from Kerala and Laksha Dweep thereby tucking feather of triumph on his hat.
